The littlest ingredients matter.

You won’t find any common allergens — milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, or sesame — in Supernatural ingredients. However, our packaging facilities are not dedicated, meaning they are free to work with other brands that may not be allergen-free. Use this Allergen Key to learn more about allergen exposure for any particular product.

Natural flavors can be not natural at all. All natural flavors used in Supernatural products, including our flavor drops, are made from non-gmo, vegan, and truly plant-based sources, with no synthetic anything. Learn more about our unique natural flavors here.

When it comes to oils for sprinkles and frostings, palm comes out on top (for us). Here’s why: Other oils can go rancid quickly, are allergenic, or contribute a flavor that can be polarizing. Palm oil, when properly sourced, provides a solution to these flaws, while also offering more environmental oversight than any other other oil.
We use Organic and RSPO Certified palm oil in our products, and work with suppliers who are transparent about their supply chain.

Our sweetener of choice is cane sugar. While alternatives abound, sugar alcohols can cause upset tummies for some people. Stevia can be bitter, and isn’t always kid-approved. We love coconut sugar, but its naturally darker hue makes it hard for natural colors to shine their brightest. So, we stick to good ol’ cane sugar, and source it wisely.
The sugar in Supernatural products is always non-gmo, and organic wherever possible. We exclusively use cane sugar, as opposed to beet sugar, which typically contains GMOs.
Because sugar farming can be hard on the environment, we are always on the lookout for a source of regenerative and non-gmo cane sugar that can meet our demand, and also ensure our products can remain affordable for most people. If you know a thing or two about that, get in touch!

Corn starch and corn maltodextrin can be problematic when they are made with GMO corn. However, even when they are non-gmo, we still prefer to work with tapioca starch and maltodextrin.
Tapioca can handle freezing better than corn, making it a friendlier sprinkle for ice cream, frozen waffles, or popsicles. Overall, non-gmo tapioca starches and dextrins are typically less processed overall than corn.
You can still find traces of corn maltodextrin in our natural colors, which are made by FDA regulated suppliers, who use maltodextrin as a processing agent. But in our own recipes, we choose tapioca starches and dextrins over corn.
