Frosting question? Talk to us.

Are Supernatural frostings safe for people with food allergies?

You won’t find any Top 9 allergens in our frostings, or any other Supernatural product. However, our frostings are not made in a dedicated facility. That means our manufacturing partner can make other products that contain allergens, if they want to. Currently, the facility that makes our frostings also makes products that contain soy, wheat, eggs and milk.

If your allergy is severe, play it safe and email us - we’ll do our best to help you figure out exposure. And for more insight into allergen exposure across all Supernatural products, check out our allergen guide here.

Should I stir before swooshing onto cakes or cupcakes?

Our frostings are free from corn syrup and mono-and-diglycerides, which means they might need a stir before using. (Those ingredients traditionally reduce the need to stir, but we prefer to avoid them). To more quickly arrive at the consistency you want — or if your frosting was pretty cold or chilled to start — you can also pop it in the microwave, at 15 second increments (go slow), stirring each time.

What does Clean Label Project Certified mean?

Stuff that humans were never meant to eat — like heavy metals, plasticizers, and pesticides — can sometimes be found in the foods we eat. The Clean Label Project is a non-profit that independently verifies a product is free from these contaminants. Our frostings were tested for hundreds of them, and passed each test.

For us, this certification is a way to show our community that when it comes to clean ingredients, we mean business. For you, it just means a few less things to worry about.

What’s “organic natural flavor?”

Natural flavors can be weird. Ours are not. Supernatural flavors are extracted from non-gmo, vegan plants and spices, then remixed into mouthwatering smells and tastes. There is nothing synthetic or artificial in these flavors (and they’re actually super cool). Learn more about the unique way we make our flavors here!

What’s behind your palm oil?

When it comes to oils for frosting, palm comes out on top (for us). Here’s why: Other oils can go rancid quickly, are allergenic, or contribute a flavor that can be polarizing. Palm oil, when properly sourced, provides a solution to these flaws, while also offering more environmental oversight than any other other oil.

We use Organic and RSPO Certified palm oil in our frostings, and work with suppliers who are transparent about their supply chain.
